Enjoy this special Agro Tour and Farm visits in Tirana Albania, during this full-week program.
Arrival at “Mother Teresa” Airport, meet with our exponent and transfer to hotel. Free afternoon in the city. Welcome dinner in a local restaurant in the ex blloku area, one of the most vivid parts of the city, where the most bars and restaurants are located.
Depending on the time of arrival, this afternoon we may visit an area winery near Tirana, in Lundra village. Overnight in Tirana.
In morning we take a city tour of Tirana, the colorful capital city of Albania. We visit central boulevard, pssing by the government buildings, the Pyramid, Mother Tereza Square, National Art Gallery, and The Opera House.
We walk by the grand bazaar of Tirana where local producers bring every day their products, food and drinks.
Continue further to an agro tourism area a couple km out of the town, here we visit the farm, enjoy lunch with some traditional Albanian dishes, prepared from the fresh bio products of the farm. Along we try the local wine produced from the vineyards of this farm.
After lunch and tasting wine, we transfer to a winery area nearby, where we spend the afternoon at the vineyards and enjoying the views – set between fertile hills, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves,
In the late afternoon arrival in Tirana for dinner and overnight.
In the morning we transfer to Berat, an old UNESCO town – the honor of Albanian architecture. Guided tour of Berat, where we visit the castle located at the top of the hill. With quite 2000 years of history the castle offers great views of Berat old town from above. People still leave visitors in their traditional houses inside the castle’s walls.
Continue further to the Medieval centre of Berat, where we will see a gorgeous mosque, an ornate tekke, and stunning wood-carved balconies. Stroll through the narrow stoney roads of Berat, and stop for lunch one of local restaurant in the old town. Here we may try some typical meals of the region. City of Berat is quite famous for its delicious culinary.
After lunch, we transfer to an another local winery nearby the city. Visit the vineyards, cellars and enjoy local wines and some snacks,
Return to Tirana for dinner and overnight.
This morning we transfer to the historical city of Kruja the historical city which lays on a bird’s-eye view at the top of a hill, 600 km above sea level. With a mixture of nature, history Kruja is one of the most frequent citys in Albania. We visit its medieval castle, learn some history of the national hero Skanderbeg, who fought with the Ottoman Empire to block them from going further in Europe. Go on foot in the old bazaar, where we will meet the local artisans working with handmade souvenirs.
Lunch in a local restaurant near the castle and bazaar, with some traditional meals of the city,
In the afternoon we visit a winery nearby Kruja, before our return transfer to Tirana; where we enjoy tasting wine and snacks.
Dinner and overnight in Tirana.
Today we visit the coastal city of Durres, an ancient city in Albania, with almost 3000 years of history. Durres, this city is home to several ancient archaeological sites and the Amphitheatre of the Roman Emperor Adrian is the most known, also the second biggest amphitheatre in the Balkans.
On arrival we can take a sightseeing of Durres and visit of the Roman Amphitheater
Lunch in restaurant with fish menu, nearby the seaside.
Further we drive towards Lalzi Bay, a coastal area where are located some of the main wineries.
Visit Duka Winery. Located between a small lake and the magnificent hills, the vineyard covers an area of 5.5 ha oriented south-west, Duka offers spectacular views. If time permits, we can visit a second winery in the town before our return to Tirana.
