Drin i Zi Rafting Tour | Diber – Albania Tours

The Black Drin or as the locals call it “Drini i Zi” is the longest river of Albania, with its 285 kilometers passing across the country, and one of the most interesting places for an Albanian tour!

It starts at the merger of the “Drini i Zi” and the “Drini i Bardhe”, flowing out of the beautiful Lake Ohrid in Macedonia to get to the city of Kukës, in Albania.

As the ”Drini i Zi” enters Albania, the river divides into two large branches that flow along the outskirts of the district of Dibra. Along the valleys of this region, the Black Drin becomes a beautiful beach, where the locals from Peshkopi spend their summer with a wonderful landscape.

Another interesting part of the Black Drin is that a branch of it has its flows diverted due to a flood two centuries ago. This way, it now flows close to Lezha.

Rafting trips in Albania do not provide high level of difficulty, but every visitor should consider:

• Be healthy and have consulted the doctor during the year.
• In absolute terms, the person should not have diseases and complications following:
  • Cardiac disease of any kind
  • Hypertension
  • Flake out or loss of feeling of any kind
  • Problems of the spine and muscular system that reduce the physical possibility of safety.
  • Problems with breathing apparatus
  • Nerve Problems
  • Pregnancy
  • Problems with eyes (severe myopia, retinal detachment, glaucoma)
  • Be under the influence of pharmaceutical drugs, drugs, alcohol.

You should have worn:

• Swimming suit
• Very sport light wear (short trousers and t-shirt)
• Sandals / sneakers for walking, strong and non-slippery
• A smile

  You should take with you:

• Sunlight protection cream
• An extra pair of underneath
• An extra pair of long trouser, t-shirt

Kindly keep all your clothes and personal belongings in a backpack, which can be easily transported on a minivan.
